Shakira sentenced to 8 years in prison at the request of Spain

Shakira is subjected to a lawsuit filed by the Spanish Public Prosecutor, where she was accused of tax evasion. the prosecutor is looking for an eight-year jail term for the Colombian superstar Shakira over a €14.5m (£12.1m) charge extortion case, an investigator's office report has uncovered. 

The singer, who has sold more than 80 million albums in total with hit songs, for example, Hips Don't Lie, recently refused a settlement offer from the Spanish Public Prosecutor's Office to close the case.

She was accused of neglecting to pay tax charges somewhere in Spain around 2012 and 2014, during which time Shakira says she was not living in Spain.

The most recent improvement in the expense case comes a month after Shakira and her better half, Barcelona protector Gerard Pique, reported their partition. Shakira, 45, and Pique, 35, have been living together since 2011 and have two sons.
